UK Band PINS Release New Album ‘Hot Slick’

The all-girl rock band, who’s previously collaborated with Iggy Pop, dropped their third full length album on Friday.

Hailing from Manchester, UK is the post-punk-feeling, alternative rock band PINS, made up of Faith Vern, Lois MacDonald, and Kyoko Swan, who find musical influence from bands like LCD Soundsystem and New Order. Some may call them a girl gang, but as Vern said, “Strength should be the main thing that comes to mind when you think of us.”

Strong is one way to describe PINS’ new album Hot Slick, released Friday via their own label Haus of Pins. With frequent use of synths, bold sounding guitars, and fun melodies, Hot Slick eloquently follows PINS’ first two full length albums: 2013’s Girls Like Us and Wild Nights in 2015. The band also had an EP in 2017 titled Bad Thing and saw Iggy Pop as a feature on the track “Agoraphobe”.
