UNIQLO x Studio Ghibli Returns With the Whimsical “My Dear” Collection

For their third collaboration, Uniqlo and Studio Ghibli reunite to transform the studio’s magical stories into everyday wear
A meeting of kindred spirits for the summer season—Global apparel retailer UNIQLO unveils an enchanted collaboration with the beloved Japanese animation studio, Studio Ghibli. The My Dear collaborative UT collection marks the third crossover between the two cultural powerhouses, which first ignited in February 2022.
Hitting UNIQLO retailers on July 10th, this third collection spans both adult and children’s wear, featuring 14 designs with expressive artworks illustrated by highly acclaimed Thai artist Kanyada Phatan—a familiar name to both UNIQLO and Studio Ghibli.

Founded in Japan, Uniqlo continues to celebrate its heritage, spotlighting the hometown legend that Studio Ghibli is, designing pieces that fuse cultural heritage with contemporary wear. Imagery from the studio’s most acclaimed films, such as Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service, My Neighbour Totoro, and The Boy and The Heron, are vividly painted across each piece of the collection.

To commemorate the launch of the collection, UNIQLO hosted a dinner in tandem with Studio Ghibli at the Brooklyn Japanese restaurant Rule of Thirds. In true Ghibli style, guests were treated to a charming spread of traditional Japanese dishes—including Gem Salad, Tonkatsu, and Yakizakana—while being serenaded by a live band.
