V Exclusive: Adidas meets Fiorucci Gets Another Go
Adidas meets Fiorucci hits the refresh button for a summer-ready collection of clothes and accessories.
Fiorucci may have stepped back on the scene with a bang in 2017, but if their coveted capsule collections or graphic takes on logomania are any indication, they’re anything but a flash in the pan. Enter Adidas meets Fiorucci, the cool kid collab that launched earlier this year with six breakout pieces. For summer, the collaboration is getting a full-sized drop, V have learned.
“The FIORUCCI graphic archive remains one of the richest and most innovative,continually reinventing its vibrant language always with a nod to the original visuals from the 80’s spread across t-shirts, magazines, posters and beyond,” adidas Originals’ design director, Ebru Ercon, and her team said. “Fiorucci embraces the same values as ADIDAS: a pioneer brand in the 70’s and 80’s with various creators to remain culturally relevant.”
Fiorucci also saw the intersection of the two points as a natural fit. “Both brands pride themselves on inclusivity, and the endless, unfaltering power and importance of youth culture. Adidas and Fiorucci are authentic brands and have been trailblazers over the years,” Fiorucci CEOs Janie and Stephen Schaffer said.
And in this case, trailblazing means everything from a beachy Falcon slide to reworking the iconic Fiorucci red & white striped tee. Graphic tube socks and cutout one-piece swimsuits are other high points of the collection.
