V EXCLUSIVE: Lili Reinhart’s Last Look Pre-Met Gala

The actress wore Salvatore Ferragamo to the 2019 Met Gala alongside her date Cole Sprouse.

The fashion pack still reeling (and nursing hangovers) from last night’s Met Gala and subsequent afterparties. The red carpet started with the bar set sky-high, with Lady Gaga turning out four looks in fifteen minutes, and Billy Porter being toted in atop a palanquin. Another notable, later on in the evening, was actress Lili Reinhart, who sat at Salvatore Ferragamo’s first-ever table at the event.

“Since it was my second time going, I felt more relaxed about the whole experience,” she says, having attended the event alongside her beau and Riverdale co-star Cole Sprouse. “I also felt that I could take more risks and really embody the theme; this was the perfect night to just go for it without hesitation.” Reinhart’s look was definitely on-theme, hairdo and all.

Ferragamo’s Women’s Creative Director and the mastermind behind the dress, Paul Andrew, felt that marrying a timeless aesthetic and celebrity was a natural move for the brand. “Salvatore was not only a master craftsman but a celebrity in his own right, creating custom creations for the most influential actors of his time,” he says. “It’s that legacy of Hollywood and finding inspiration in unique talent that develops the unexpected.”

And it’s true: Ferragamo’s creation for actress Judy Garland, their iconic rainbow platform sandals even make an appearance in Camp: Notes on Fashion, the exhibit opened by last night’s festivities.
