The Victoria’s Secret bombshells descended upon Brooklyn earlier this week for the first time in six years. Supermodels from around the world were united with the first-ever all-woman musical lineup—featuring music legend Cher and budding pop princesses Tyla and Lalisa—to welcome the iconic fashion show back in the city that never sleeps. Around fifty or so models showcased new pieces from the legendary lingerie company in a runway spectacular that was divided into five sections: Modern Heritage, Twinkle, Heroes, Atelier and Unwrap The Magic.

This year’s cast of models included beloved Veteran VS darlings like Adrianna Lima, Tyra Banks, Gigi Hadid, and Candice Swanepoel, as well as newer faces like Alex Consani, Anok Yai and Lila Moss, the 22-year-old daughter of ‘90s supermodel Kate Moss (who also made a surprise catwalk appearance during the show). Despite making her runway debut at the Miu Miu show during Paris Fashion Week in 2020, last night’s show marked Lila’s Victoria’s Secret runway debut, which she got to do alongside her mother.
Before Lila strutted along the catwalk in her blush-toned ensemble (complete with script-laden “wings”), V caught up with the rising model to chat about her latest experience with the brand.
V Magazine: Welcome to New York Lila! With NYC being V’s hometown, V needs to know what are some of your favorite go-to’s whenever you’re in Manhattan (or Brooklyn!)
Lila Moss: Whenever I touch down in NYC, the first place I always want to go to is Cha Cha Matcha. I love that they make their own almond milk, that’s why I love it. And I guess my apartment too!
V: Do you remember your first time ever being in NY? How old were you, what do you remember most about your first visit?
LM: The first time I actually remember because I came when I was 2 or 3, but don’t have vivid memories of that. I remember when I came when I was 2ish, being in my mom’s hotel room and doing black sparkly eyeshadow on myself and trying on high heels and then stubbing my toe.

V: Your first time working with VS was just about a year ago last fall when they did their last show video in NYC—how does this experience differ to last year? What has you most excited about this trip?
LM: I think last year was so special in its own way, but everyone dreams of walking down the runway in their wings and the fact that this is live and there is a live audience, makes it have so much more hype. There is good pressure and excitement around it, and I think being backstage with all the girls and it being live is really exciting.
V: It’s no secret VS is coming back to the runway in a major way—are you a bit nervous to walk the iconic VS catwalk? How does it differ to other shows that you’ve walked in?
LM: I am definitely nervous to walk, first of all you have wings on, and you want to give that energy, and you want to bring good energy, but also bring power to the runway. So, I think that there is a little pressure but nothing I can’t handle.

V: With their VS Fashion Show back in action, some of the OG VS models are back as well. Which of the VS veteran models did you admire growing up? Did you ever dream about having your own wings?
LM: I admired Adriana, Candice, even Taylor–who feels so–I just, even seeing her walk around–I am like she is so beautiful. And I definitely dreamed of having my own wings, as much as I wouldn’t admit it then, yes I am very happy to have wings now.
