V PREMIERE: Sophia Anne Caruso Makes a Daring Debut

What can’t she do? Sophia’s new single, “Toys” is out now.

Multi-talented Broadway actress, Sophia Anne Caruso has made a fearless debut during quarantine by dropping her initial single, “Toys.” Written from the outside perspective of a partner watching their lover fall apart, “Toys” vocalizes that loss of reality. Similar to the innocence of a child shining through in such extreme moments of despair.

As we all are seemingly losing touch with normalcy, the themes present in the song about the unknown future and force of futility are synonymous with the on-going coronavirus pandemic. Best known for her leading roles in David Bowie’s Lazarus as well as Beetlejuice on Broadway, Sophia’s stardom is launched further into superstar territory with this new single and her upcoming EP.

Teaming up with notable artist and producer Nick Littlemore and pal Henry Hey, Sophia is sharing this new single with much excitement. However, this partnership is not new to the trio. Having worked on a variety of passion projects, music, and poetry over the years, friendship is only one of the many special things created from working together. The trio is in harmony when it comes to focusing on artistry over popularity, a successful approach thus far. And while quarantine has proven a lot, Sophia is proof you don’t need a flashy studio or video sets to make quality art. Caruso’s professional vocals for “Toys” were surprisingly recorded at Henry’s East Village apartment. “It turns out all you need is good friends, inspiration, and a living room.”
