V125 Next Gen: Lila Moss

“Last summer, I went parasailing with my mum. This summer, I’m raising awareness on the climate crisis [by] supporting environmental causes like extinction rebellion.” -Lila Moss

A new generation of supermodels is here. They are taking over the world’s runways, serving looks on magazine covers, and becoming industry muses. These models are present both physically and digitally in today’s world. With summer just around the corner, they prepare for some well-deserved rest and relaxation—even in the face of COVID-19.

As she continues her 2-year reign as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, today we are celebrating Lila Moss as the next cover star for V125. The fresh-faced beauty is lensed by photographers Inez and Vinoodh and styled by George Cortina.  The Moss muse might ring a familiar bell, as she follows in supermodel and fashion footsteps. V spoke with the protegé and fashions rising star about the movies keeping her company during quarantine, self-motivation, and her hopes for this year.

LM Self-isolation has taught me not to take anything for granted and to get in touch with the things I love to do but never have time for like cooking (for and with my family) and reading. I’ve also learned how to be more self-motivated with school work and do it independently.

V Many people are reevaluating travel plans… If you were to be in one place for most of the summer, where would that be?

LM At home relaxing in the garden with my family, and hopefully, I will be able to visit my grandparents by the English seaside.

V The public healthy climate has shaped many people’s reading/viewing habits—what are some reading or viewing material you’ve sought out in this time?

LM Movies I’ve watched with my family are Fargo, Judy (about Judy Garland) and to calm my mind I watch David Attenborough. The next book on my reading list is Roland by Virginia Wolf.
