V MAGAZINE: What are three “golden rules” you try to live by?
HYUNJOO HWANG: Consistency—staying committed and showing up every day, rain or shine. Intuition – trust the feeling that speaks before logic catches up. Growth—every moment holds a lesson—stay open to it.
LIN XIANG: First, never regret what you choose. Second, if you have a dream, try to make it happen, even if people around you don’t support you, try it. Third, live in the moment.
NING JINYI: There is only one “golden rule” for me. Always level up.
V: Where do you think your ambition comes from?
HH: My ambition comes from a deep desire to be loved and to connect with others in a way that truly resonates.
LX: When people doubted you, you’d do anything to prove yourself. Now, I don’t feel the need, but back then, that’s what drove me to be ambitious.
NJ: My ambition comes from believing in myself and having a super solid team that always has my back.
V: What motivates you to strive for your best in what you do?
HH: The longing to make my craft my own—to become a true artist. It feels like my purpose and the only door to my next chapter.
LX: It’s the opportunity, the kind of opportunity that may suddenly come along without any warning. If you’re not always prepared, you won’t be able to seize it.
NJ: Being able to build a career that provides me with financial security for me and my family motivates me every day.
V: Are there any self-motivation techniques/tricks you do to build yourself up?
HH: I listen to music that takes me back to my childhood dreams—ballet classics, classical piano, musical theater, and ’90s sexy pop.
NJ: I remind myself that this is a job, and I am so lucky to be a model as my job! Every day I am inspired by the people around me which keeps me motivated.

V: What helps you lock in your confidence during moments when you need to “go for the gold”?
HH: I believe in the true gold within me—the passion, resilience, and purpose that drive me forward.
LX: Believe in the power of belief. If you believe something will happen, you’ll act like it will. Even if you run into tough times along the way, as long as you truly believe, you’ll just keep going.
NJ: All of the experiences I have had prepare me for life’s challenges and give me the self confidence to achieve my goals.
V: What is the most rewarding part of modeling? What is the least rewarding?
HH: The best and hardest part of modeling is the same—unpredictability. The most rewarding part is seeing the final product and knowing I was part of something beautiful. Traveling, meeting new people, and experiencing different cultures also teach me so much about myself. But that same unpredictability can also be the toughest part. So much is out of your control. Staying ready without knowing what’s coming next can be exhausting.
LX: The most rewarding part of modeling? Definitely the huge confidence boost and the chance to see more of the world. However, in this industry, we’re constantly being judged and selected. There are times when self – doubt creeps in. One moment I’m full of confidence, and the next, I’m questioning myself. It’s a real challenge to handle these mood swings.
NJ: Honestly, the moment I get paid feels very rewarding! I’ve been pretty happy with how things are going so I feel happy most of the time.
V: Tell us about a “golden age” in your life—a time you look back on super fondly.
HH: I’d say my early ballet years over decades. I didn’t realize it then, but that time shaped so much of who I am today—my discipline, my appreciation for movements, and my love for beauty in all forms. There was something magical about being in the studio, completely absorbed in the music and the technique.
LX: For me, it’s not a year—it’s a vibe. If I had to pick, last year was my golden age. Got my first movie role as the second lead. Even with little screen time, I was stoked. To pursue my dream and gain exposure, I focused on social media. Starting with 2k Instagram followers, consistent content creation helped grow my audience to 140k in a year. Though my acting career is young, the process of working toward my goals and building my presence is my golden era. It’s not behind me—it’s happening now.
NJ: I feel like I am currently in my golden age! My favorite memories are just hanging out with my friends—drinking, dancing, singing, and gossiping! Pure joy.

V: What do you consider to be the “golden age” of fashion?
HH: For me, it’s the late ‘90s and early 2000s. That era had such an effortless mix of elegance and edge. The supermodel era!
LX: Well, I think it’s the 1960s and 1970s. In the 60s, the youth chased freedom. Mini – skirts popped up, and colors were super bright. Old fashion rules were thrown out. In the 70s, the hippie style was in, with loose clothes and wild patterns. Disco brought shiny outfits. People were really free to do whatever they wanted in fashion. It was a time when anything was possible in the fashion world.
NJ: The next era… whatever that might be.
V: In the spirit of going for the gold, what are you hoping to manifest for yourself both personally and professionally within the next 5-10 years?
HH: I just want to find inner peace and stability while enjoying the moment. I also hope to inspire others as an artist and share my journey in a way that really connects with people
LX: In my personal life, first of all, I hope I won’t stay up late. I hope to pay more attention to my physical health and dietary health. I want to pursue a high-quality life, with a focus on health preservation. In terms of my career, first of all, I hope my modeling career can take another step forward. I aim to balance both my modeling and acting careers. I hope to land my first leading female role in a movie in my life. At the same time, I hope that in five years’ time, I will still be engaged in the career that I love.
NJ: I’m manifesting a cool $50 million for myself.
V: What, if anything, has already surprised you the most in 2025?
HH: A strong feeling that 2025 is going to be pure gold for me!
LX: The thing that has most surprised me is that I’m still single.
NJ: My friend’s cat got pregnant after she was already spayed! Still can’t figure that one out.
