Vacheron Constantin Métiers d’Art Presents The Year of the Goat

The luxury watch manufacturer continues to pay homage to Chinese cultural heritage with the latest edition to their zodiac series.
Each year, Vacheron Constantin pays tribute to the Chinese zodiac with a limited-edition timepiece that brings together traditional craftsmanship and intricate artistry.
2027 marks the Year of the Goat.
The Maison has long explored the symbolism of Eastern and Western astrology, launching its annual series of limited-edition Chinese zodiac timepieces in 2012 and continuing the tradition ever since. Following the Year of the Horse in 2026, the Goat is the eighth sign in the Chinese zodiac, symbolising peace, kindness, and inner resilience.

To celebrate the Lunar New Year in February, the heritage Maison has introduced two limited editions, each restricted to 25 pieces and crafted in pink or white gold. Housed in a 40mm case, each timepiece is powered by the self-winding Calibre 2460 G4, which replaces conventional hands with four peripheral apertures displaying the time and calendar indications. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the movement offers a 40-hour power reserve and bears the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva certification. Vacheron Constantin combines technical mastery with artistic expression through meticulous grand feu enamelling, miniature painting, and hand engraving.
The 25 pink gold models are paired with dark brown alligator leather straps, while the 25 white gold editions feature dark blue alligator leather straps.

At the centre of each dial stands a majestic three-dimensional goat perched atop a rock, embodying the zodiac sign’s quiet strength.
The sculptural figure is complemented by a richly detailed landscape of foliage and rock formations, all rendered by hand. The intricate scene reflects the Maison’s commitment to preserving traditional decorative arts within the realm of fine watchmaking.

Beyond their artistic and technical merits, the new Métiers d’Art watches also reflect Vacheron Constantin’s historical ties with China. Archival records reveal that as early as 1846, the Maison sent 33 pairs of watches to Canton, now known as Guangzhou, underscoring its longstanding connections with Chinese dignitaries.
The new timepieces offer a contemporary interpretation of this rich heritage, bringing together nearly two centuries of history with the Maison’s enduring dedication to craftsmanship and artistic expression. Through the Métiers d’Art collection, Vacheron Constantin continues to honour cultural traditions while reinterpreting them for a new generation of collectors.
