Valentino Pays Homage to the Maison and Couture With New Eyewear Collection

Debuting three new styles, Valentino Eyewear shows that couture principles span outside the world of garment making.

After signing an exclusive agreement with Switzerland-based Akoni Group in December of 2021, Maison Valentino is releasing a new chapter of Valentino Eyewear. With a new dedication to craftsmanship, expertise, and quality and help from the Akoni Group, the new capsule collection embodies Valentino Couture.

The first capsule debuts three new styles that use fine materials and cutting-edge production techniques to bring about luxurious eyewear. Named after the historical sites of Valentino’s headquarters, the glasses pay homage to the Maison and Pierpaolo Piccioli. Paris Place Vendome (VIII) and Milan Turati (XVI) serve as a tribute to the Maison and his legacy. Rome Mignanelli (XXII) pays tribute to Piccioli, as this is where the heart of his creativity resides.

Paris Place Vendome features a sharp cat-eye lens, with a brown, red, and gold color story. Named after the City of Love, the color palette and silhouette of the glasses exude a Parisian look. Using a combination of gold hardware and green lenses, the Milan Turati has a true Italian look. If worn with a white linen button-up and classy dress pants, no one can deny their classic, yet fashionable aesthetic. Finally, the Rome Mignanelli plays into the nightlife atmosphere that comes with the fashion world. Thick black frames hold black-tinted lenses, making these the perfect glasses for day and night.

The eyewear collection conveys the brand’s values and mastery of couture. In a field where tradition is key, but uniqueness is the goal, Valentino masters the art time and time again. By creating old eyewear styles in a modern way, the brand shows how eyewear can still hold couture values. The new collection is produced in the finest workshops in Japan, ensuring the highest quality materials and techniques are used.

The new Valentino Eyewear collection drops in July on Valentino’s website and at select Valentino boutiques, as well as at exclusive eyewear retailers worldwide.
