The newest Vans silhouette is on the way, and it may not be quite the sneaker you had imagined. Let it be known: Clogs are SO back! OTW by Vans and Sterling Ruby’s S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA have reunited once more for a capsule collection, featuring the good ol’ fashioned clog.

With design innovation at the forefront of the collaboration, the centerpiece of the collection is the Future Clog: an organic, minimal mule fused with the classic Dutch clog silhouette in one. Artist Sterling Ruby not only explored classic design inspirations such as sculpture and function, but also a more personal inspiration: family.

“The maternal side of my family lives in the Netherlands, so I have visited countless times,” reminisces Ruby. “I fondly remember my grandfather wearing clogs while working in his shop, making gardening tools that were painted bright green. I wanted to honor the tradition of Dutch clogs while pushing them into the future—creating a bold form that remains true to its roots.”

The focal color palette of the collaboration thrives off of a splattered yellow and black marble, painted on sneakers, including the Old Skool and Authentic, and apparel offerings of a hockey jersey, travel bag, and socks.
