Vaquera’s Got You Babe: Spring 2027

A little Paris, a lot of New York, and some very big bows: Vaquera’s latest collection proves they still know how to put on a show.
I’m a put-on-a-show kind of girl. That’s it, and that’s all Vaquera’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation had to say. No other words were needed when the sentiment was already being expressed through the garments strutting down the runway.
Following their move to Paris last summer, Vaquera’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection hinted at that transatlantic shift through a certain French maturity. Where previous collections have drawn heavily from lingerie and the freedom of showing skin, this one felt older and more assured. Perhaps the move has seen the brand grow up—if only slightly.

Hints of Paris appeared in military jackets, tweed boater hats, and tailored jodhpurs. One look in particular conjured an air of Parisian dandyism: brown leather shorts paired with a navy military sweater, cut away at the waist and cinched with a thin black belt. Beneath it sat a shirt and tie, with voluminous sleeves ballooning out from under the sweater. Perhaps the most dandyish touch of all was the long cigarette holder.

Amid this Parisian influence was a sense of elevation, tempered by the unmistakable spirit of Vaquera’s New York roots. Leather jackets and gloves brought an edge to the more polished silhouettes, while flashes of neon carried the kind of original stylishness that simply says “New York.” Oversized bows in electric shades wrapped across chests and cinched waists, transforming their sweetness into something louder and more irreverent. Elsewhere, that same neon spilled across evening gowns, turning color into something impossible to ignore.

Just when it seemed the gowns’ color would be the loudest part of the show, designers Patric DiCaprio and Bryn Taubensee appeared on the balcony above the stage to perform a duet of Sonny & Cher’s “I Got You Babe.”

Putting on a show has never been foreign to DiCaprio and Taubensee, and Vaquera’s Spring/Summer 2027 presentation made that much clear. But if there was ever any doubt, now you know: they’ve got you…
Babe.
