Veronica Leoni Brings Joy and Light New Moncler 1952 Collection
Using varying textiles and bright colors, the new collection combines the thrill of the outdoors with an everyday lifestyle.
For her new designs, Veronica Leoni takes on the challenge of creating a dialogue with what’s happening in the world around her. The result: a collection that feels timely, personal, and unexpected. For the new Moncler 1952 collection, Leoni aims to capture the feeling of joy, vibrancy, and positivity with clothing. Using Moncler’s language and codes, Leoni incorporates the outdoors into her vision to honor the brand.
Intricate patterns from the archives of the Como textile factories return for the new collection. Luxurious jacquards, bright knitwear, and neutral-toned fabrics invoke a feeling of joy with their vibrancy. The main focus of the collection is the puffer jacket. It receives a playful redesign as it’s mixed with knitwear, creating a nonchalant yet striking silhouette.
A white puffer provides the base layer for the more exciting patterns in the collection. As the pieces progress, bold florals, stripes, and cravatteria motifs become more pronounced and add hints of joy to the look of the collection. Other garments include hooded parkas, longuette skirts, slip dresses, and cardigans. The overall silhouette of Leoni’s designs is assertive and layered. Pairing a cropped puffer with a longuette skirt creates a playful, yet serious tone, one that fits in with the attitude of today.
For an extra hint of joy, Leoni includes Miss Piggy and Animal from The Muppets Show on jersey tees, aiding in the overall playful nature Leoni is going for.
Platform creepers and chunky padded handbags make up the accessories for the collection. An array of patterns and stripes cover jacquard and quilted fabrics, creating a direct juxtaposition between textures.
The Moncler 1952 collection and Leoni remind us that amid all the chaos of life, there is still joy and positivity in the shadows.
