In a groundbreaking collaboration, fashion icon Donatella Versace invited music superstar Dua Lipa to join the design process for the Italian fashion house’s newest pre-fall collection “La Vacanza”, making the co-designed collection a first in Versace’s long-standing history.

Mixing Versace classics and fresh designs, the 42-look collection ranges from sharp tailoring and glamorous evening gowns to bikinis and terry cotton beachwear. “La Vacanza” exudes the liveliness of vacation through a rich tapestry of vibrant colors and patterns. One of the patterns used throughout is the iconic Butterfly & Ladybugs print, originally featured in the Versace Spring/Summer 1995 collection. The iconic print has been refreshed with a twist of black and white polka dots.

Retro glamour plays a significant role in Dua’s style repertoire, infusing many of her looks with nostalgic elements. The 80s-inspired power suits and 90s-inspired slip dresses consistently seen in Dua Lipa’s wardrobe seamlessly connect to their joint lineup. “La Vacanza” transforms the typical tourist with the introduction of innovative deconstructed suits and mesmerizing crystal designs.

The heart of “La Vacanza” lies within the shared vision of designs that embody modern elegance while encompassing the full Versace lifestyle. Towards the end of the collection, glamourous black silk dresses and black deconstructed tailored blazers commanded the runway, ending the collection with a captivating and sophisticated touch.

The true beauty of the collection is in the details. The iconic Medusa motifs, beautiful butterfly accents, and belted creations epitomize star power — which is inevitable when two icons collaborate. “Dua loves Fashion, I love Music—we are the perfect duo!” said Donatella Versace. “We had such a good time designing this collection together.”
