Nearly two years after Versace held its first runway show in America, Donatella has confirmed that she will be returning to the USA for Versace Resort 2021.

The show will take place on May 16 but the exact location is still unknown. Versace will present both women’s and men’s looks. The co-ed format will also be seen at Versace’s upcoming Milan show in February.

The news has come as no great surprise, in recent seasons we’ve seen some of the biggest names in European fashion present collections in the US. Saint Laurent presented its Men’s Spring/Summer 2020 show in Malibu. Models walked along the beach against a backdrop of crashing waves and the night sky. In attendance was Miley Cyrus, Keanu Reeves, and Hailey Baldwin. Just this month we saw (Kim Jones) Dior present their Pre-Fall 2020 show in Miami. The show took place just a few days before Art Basel. Back in August, Kim said, “I am really looking forward to presenting our first men’s show in the US as the perfect precursor to Art Basel.”

The first Versace show held in the US took place in December to celebrate Gianni Versace’s birthday. Will the Resort 2021 show be another tribute to Gianni? The late designer loved the US, especially Miami. He used the city as the location for many of his 90’s campaigns.
