VIKTOR&ROLF’s SS22 Collection Showcases Elegant Silhouettes

VIKTOR&ROLF’s Spring/Summer 2022 Collection debut showcases the label’s detailed silhouettes, cinematic inspirations, and distinctive styles.

VIKTOR&ROLF’s Spring/Summer 2022 Haute Couture Collection, through the lenses of Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren, embodies bold designs, conveying the assemblage’s concept. Inspired by old Hollywood’s Dracula cinemas that involved distinctively thrilling illuminations reflective of these worn silhouettes, came together to represent living in apprehension about the world’s evolution. Viktor and Rolf indicate this occurrence in the present day. The collection also serves as an ode to the designers’ 1993 line at the Hyères Festival International des Arts de la Mode competition, becoming an award recipient.

This season’s Spring/Summer 2022 pieces have influence from that of decades past, incorporating a stylized and eminent shoulder line, the outcome producing an askew and lengthened silhouette. Viktor and Rolf attribute this element to the human body’s extension to its highest being and, in turn, augmenting one’s head and face and guarding the neck. The collection showcases a color palette that shifts between the opaque and its latter, brandishing more soft-hued tones and differing appearances. Its looks are created from eco-friendly and sustainable textiles in partnership with TENCEL™ Luxe and vegan footwear as part of VIKTOR&ROLF X Melissa’s third season release.

Onyxes and periwinkles to light taupe and baby pinks dominate or become fused within the singular articles, signifying its disposition. Each piece’s intricate configurations resemble ones of symmetry, identifiable throughout, with some looks including elaborate ruffles and hand-embellished (3D) floral compositions.
