Viktor&Rolf Mariage Spring Summer 2022 Bridal Collection

For their five year anniversary, this collection displays noir Hollywood glam

Presenting the Viktor&Rolf Mariage Spring/Summer 2022 collection ‘Dial V&R for Mariage’, fashion artists Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren celebrate the five-year anniversary of the Mariage collection, which introduced bridalwear with a fashion edge, through highlighting a modern and glamorous approach to bridalwear with a twist.

The collection has a contemporary film-noir vibe creating a feeling of suspense juxtaposed with glamorous Hollywood styling. In a trailer accompanying the collection and editorial photos directed by Ruben Duipmans with art direction by Horsting and Snoeren featuring models Katie Wong, Demy de Vries, Nikki Vonsee, and Annemary Aderibigbe are black and white scenes in Amsterdam at the Amstel Hotel which is known for a rich history of luxury. It included gowns that had daisy straps, an Ancient Greek-like draping, and a layered tulle gown as the models posed and ran around the hotel to dramatic orchestral music.

The collection includes couture elements such as elaborate signature bows, tiered volants, and a cascade of sheer organza and tulle ruffles. This season also consists of mermaid gowns with plunging necklines, low-cut back interests, lace flower artworks, fabric-covered buttons, and ‘60s daisy embellishments with clear crystal embroidered centers.

One of the collection’s highlights is called the ‘Duchesse Drama,’ a striking high-low gown crafted out of eco-friendly satin duchesse, featuring a strapless neckline with v-slit. The enlarged detachable puffed sleeves and wide draped waistband transforms into a signature bow at the back. Tiered volants make up the high-low skirt that gives way to a dramatic train.

The collection is produced in partnership with Justin Alexander, an international bridalwear designer and manufacturer.

With the launch of this new collection, Viktor&Rolf unite with the Only The Brave Foundation to support VOW, the growing global movement that is ending the international child marriage crisis. “Marriage should be a dream for everyone,” stated Horsting and Snoeren.
