Vintage Is Modernized In New Vivienne Westwood Sunglasses Collection

Eyewear is reimagined as timeless meets futurism, designed with emblematic Westwood flair

Sunglasses are the hottest accessory for the spring and summer, and no one is doing them better than Vivienne Westwood. Their new Sun Collection interprets the classic eyewear through a theatrical lens, melding function with individual style. Westwood’s signature design is mirrored as tradition blends into the future, and form and silhouette plays into experimental proportions and asymmetry.

“Sunglasses should be the embodiment of personal theatre. They can make any look – they are an extension of your style,” said Andreas Kronthaler, Creative Director. “Of course they have a purpose, but they should be fun, playful, joyous.”

Old Hollywood glamour and 1960’s Italian style take shape as timeless meets contemporary, with three categories of sunglasses: Vanguard produces androgynous, avant-garde looks, Prêt-à-Porter draws from retro frames and the icons who wore them, and Essence blurs traditional silhouettes with iconic Westwood embellishments.

Consistent with Westwood’s commitment to environmental and durability standards, raw materials were carefully chosen, and the eyewear is crafted in Bio-based Acetate with hardwearing metals. Packaging is constructed of a recycled by-product leather case, organic cotton bag, recycled polyester cloth, all wrapped in a recycled and FSC certified paper box, each component produced with 100% green energy.
