Bon vivants be at peace – the dull and tired rote of travel is no more. Virgil Abloh gears up to drop Louis Vuitton’s latest assortment of his Taïgarama collection this month, and baggage claim will never look the same.
Designed for the modern man, the travel accessories are cut from the signature Taïga Leather and monogrammed canvas that have long endowed Neverfull Totes and Clémence wallets alike – proving that old can in fact seems radically new again. Abloh toys with the playfulness of color on LV classics (the Discover backpack, the Messenger bag) marrying frisson and fashion, making the timelessness of LV leathers feel punchy and fresh. With a range of crayon-inflected hues, a tonal lineup, mimetic of that of a Crayola box, reads: “Lagoon Blue,” “Volcano Orange,” “Bahia Yellow,” “Amazon Green,” “Pacific Blue,” and near-instant, the plight of travelers’ curbs.
