Virgil Abloh’s Creative Direction Shines at Louis Vuitton Show

See the show that will be remembered for years to come.

Virgil Abloh’s Spring/Summer 2022 line debuted on the Louis Vuitton runway on November 30th in Miami. The show was titled “Virgil Was Here” as an homage to the designer, who passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 28th.

Abloh, who founded Off-White and served as Louis Vuitton menswear’s artistic director starting in 2018, left an impact within and outside of the industry. Since Sunday, social media has been swarmed with messages honoring the late designer.

Many industry names attended the Louis Vuitton show to witness Abloh’s last collection hitting the runway. In attendance were Ye (formerly known as Kanye West), Kim Kardashian West, Pharell Williams, and Bella Hadid, with Quavo, Offset, and Kid Cudi walking the runway.

As the show came to an end, Abloh’s voice is heard saying, “There’s no limit. Life is so short that you can’t waste even a day subscribing to what someone thinks you can do versus knowing what you can do.” The show ended with “Virgil Was Here” spelled out in the sky with lights.
