Lady Gaga, “Harlequin”
Ahead of her starring role as Harley Quinn in the Joker: Folie à Deux film set to release next week after its critically acclaimed debut at the Venice Film Festival, Lady Gaga surprise-dropped a companion album to the film (teased as “LG 6.5” rather than an official seventh album, which she says will arrive next year). The 13-track album consists of a variety of incredible jazz covers as well as two originals, making for an immersive film and music experience.
Stevie Nicks, “The Lighthouse”
The always-iconic and legendary Stevie Nicks is back with an anthemic new single, “The Lighthouse,” which she wrote a few months after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, drawing on her personal experiences to serve as a “lighthouse” for past, present, and future generations of women. She is set to perform the track on SNL Oct. 12 alongside host Ariana Grande.
The Weeknd, “Timeless (with Playboi Carti)”
In his second collaboration with Playboi Carti, The Weeknd has officially released “Timeless” after its debut during his sold-out performance complete with a surprise from Carti at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo. The single is set to appear on his forthcoming album Hurry Up Tomorrow.
Katie Gavin, “Inconsolable”
MUNA lead vocalist Katie Gavin is back with the third single from her solo debut album What A Relief. Much like her previous two releases “Aftertaste” and “Casual Drug Use,” “Inconsolable” showcases Gavin’s innate songwriting abilities and distinctive vocals, both of which are present on MUNA’s discography, but draw audiences in even deeper on her new solo endeavor.
Nina Nesbitt, “Mountain Music”
Acclaimed singer-songwriter Nina Nesbitt’s new album, Mountain Music, signals an entrance into a new sound and a new era for the artist. After experiencing incredible career milestones including exceeding a billion streams, earning praise from Taylor Swift, and playing shows alongside Coldplay and Stevie Nicks, Nesbitt is not slowing down.
