The final week of October is finally here, but while Halloweekend is typically the main event of the season, this weekend marks another holiday – 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

Perhaps among the most anticipated of global superstar Taylor Swift’s famous re-recordings thus far, the project did not disappoint. But along with the 1989 excitement, don’t miss out on a host of other artists’ new October releases before the month closes out. The Kid LAROI is back with the first release from his anticipated upcoming record, emerging K-Pop group RIIZE is taking the music world by storm with their new single “Talk Saxy,” and Rising singer-songwriter Lydia Luce shares her ambient third studio album Florida Girl. Add these tracks to your October playlist!

Taylor Swift, “1989 (Taylor’s Version)”

Out of all six of the albums Taylor Swift plans to re-release in order to own her masters, her 2014 fifth studio album 1989 has been consistently dissected the most. 1989 is many things – an Album of the Year winner at that year’s Grammys, Swift’s first official venture into pop music, the subject of much public speculation – but above all, the album feels quintessentially Taylor Swift. Even almost a decade later, after she’s dipped her toes into countless other musical styles, 1989 possesses a certain quality that draws audiences in like few other musical bodies of work. So when Swift announced her re-release of the album along with five previously unreleased vault tracks, fans were justifiably brimming with excitement. Tracks like “Is It Over Now?” appear sonically influenced by her most recent original release, Midnights, while re-records of tracks like “Clean” are wonderfully nostalgic yet still feel somehow new. This Taylor’s Version is one you won’t want to miss!

The Kid LAROI, “WHAT JUST HAPPENED”

After much anticipation from fans, The Kid LAROI is back with his latest single “WHAT JUST HAPPENED” as the first single from his upcoming album THE FIRST TIME set to release Nov. 10. The coming-of-age, alt-pop track is released alongside an accompanying music video and signifies a new era for the artist as he gears up to release his second studio album, making it a must-listen for fans.

RIIZE, “Talk Saxy”

RIIZE is K-Pop’s latest breakout group – the seven members have quickly cultivated a following – they’ve already broken the record for the fastest K-Pop group to reach one million followers on Instagram, just four days after their account’s launch. And with just two songs released, the RIIZE had already secured a monthly listening of more than 2.5 million on Spotify. Now, the record-breaking musical force is back with their third single “Talk Saxy,” a funky, groovy dance track to accompany its B-side “Memories.”

Lydia Luce, “Florida Girl”

Nashville-based emerging singer-songwriter Lydia Luce is back with her third studio album Florida Girl. The ambient modern pop project is an exploration of a painful past while simultaneously an optimistic look ahead to the future. Luce’s introspective lyrics and gorgeous vocals combine to create a meditative album that will immediately draw listeners in.
