Grace Wales Bonner’s newly launched Autumn Winter 2025 collection is a masterful meditation on artistry and cultural heritage. Captured in a dynamic lookbook by Oliver Hadlee Pearch and styled by Tom Guiness, the collection unfolds against stark white studio walls — evoking an artist’s workspace where process and materiality take precedence.

This season, Wales Bonner hones in on the studio as a site of creative ritual. Indigo-dyed utility pieces with corduroy accents highlight a devotion to artisanal techniques, while structured outerwear in Italian leather and Japanese canvas is elevated by striking gold lock closures. Intricately mended and darned knitwear captures the intimacy of creation, reflecting the rhythmic motions of the artist’s hand.

Core to the collection is a pivotal collaboration with Chicago-based artist Theaster Gates. “The Black Image Corporation,” Gates’ ongoing archival project, brings renewed attention to the legacy of Black women in cultural history. Drawing from the archives of Ebony and Jet magazines, historical images of Moneta Sleet Jr. and Isaac Sutton are reinterpreted in denim jacquards and striking cobalt blue overdyed prints.

Outerwear is a standout, featuring a distinguished partnership with Crombie Ltd. on a navy wool grate coat with leather trim, as well as a modernized cavalry uniform designed with Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard, adorned with satin details and embossed gold buttons.

The collection is now available for preview, with release details to be announced on the official Wales Bonner web shop.
