Dua Lipa hinted at it herself by tweeting a photo of her statement pink and poofy dress worn on the red carpet of the 2018 BRITs in London, coyly captioned "Subtle." Nothing about Dua Lipa's rise has been subtle, something that has been especially notable at the BRIT Awards tonight. Just when you think it can't get any better than performing "New Rules" with a stage full of empowered women, she wins two BRIT Awards for Best British Female and British Breakthrough Act.

In her acceptance speech, she thanked "every single female that has been on this stage before me that has given girls like me -- not just girls in the music industry but girls in society -- a place to be inspired by, to look up to, and that have allowed us to dream this big. Thank you so, so much. Here's to more women on these stages, more women winning awards and more women taking over the world."

Her "New Rules" performance was colorful in presentation and strong in message. It began with the pop star laying down surrounded by her female army. After the opening verse, full choreography kicked in. Dua Lipa commanded the stage in a tropically designed leotard underneath a matching blazer. She also donned white classic Adidas Superstar sneakers (fitting). Watch the full performance below.
