Watch: Hermès Men’s Spring-Summer 2021 Collection Live Stream

The luxury fashion house provides a “behind the scenes” feel to their menswear presentation.

Hermès has released a streamed performance of their 2021 Men’s Spring-Summer collection live from Paris. The French luxury fashion house gives the public a front-row view of their latest collection, complete with a group of models walking down a makeshift runway and sporting the season’s best looks.

The performance, called “Hors-Champ” (which translates to “off-screen” in French), is a collaboration between French film and theater director Cyril Teste and Hermès artistic director Veronique Nichanian. With the current social distancing climate, the performance brings backstage activities to the forefront of the show, directly thrusting the audience into the whirlwind of a traditional fashion show and celebrating the people that work hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

“We don’t want to create a fashion show or an absolutely finite performance. We want it to be an event: the process of creation experienced; a live sculpture, as it were,” said Teste ahead of the performance. “I hope that our playful approach freed our endeavor from a ‘making of’ vibe that was never our intention. The idea was rather to film what was off-camera.”

The performance also displays moments that the audience doesn’t normally get to see, such as models in their downtime and last-minute outfit changes and tweaks by Nichanian.

The collection showcases “lightness and simplicity,” with relaxed fits and light material that encompasses the carefree spirit of summer. The color palette mirrors the classic summer vibes, including cool blues and neutral tones paired with hints of vibrant streaks.
