The award-winning hit show The Handmaid's Tale (based on Margaret Atwood's 1985 novel) is set to return on April 25th, which means fans will have just over three months to process the second season's eerie new trailer before having to actually dive into the show's latest installment.

In the span of just one minute, the trailer shows a marching line to nowhere and Offred (Elisabeth Moss) on the run, lighting a match and looking frightfully into the camera. Over the weekend, Moss and show creator Bruce Miller told the Television Critics Association to expect a "darker" season than the first one — "if that's possible," according to Moss. According to USA Today, Moss said, "So much of this season is about motherhood. Bruce and I always talked about the impending birth of the child growing inside her as a bit of a ticking time bomb. And the complications of that are fun to explore. If she does have the baby, it will be taken away from her, and she can't be a mother."

It was also teased that there will be a visit to the Colonies for the first time, as well as a guest appearance from Marisa Tomei. Watch the official trailer below.
