Christian Dior will livestream its Autumn-Winter 2021-2022 Haute Couture Show from Paris on July 5 at 8:30 am EST.

Due to the pandemic, last year’s Haute Couture was unveiled in an exclusive and mystical film directed by Matteo Garrone. In “Le Mythe Dior”, miniature versions of gowns were sewn together by seamstresses and hand-delivered to a magical forest. Haute Couture pieces were showcased within a fanciful world of mermaids, nymphs and animal-human hybrids. The show marked an escape from the hectic world into a land of nature and fantasy.

Now, after an entire season of virtual events, Dior has made its return to a more traditional runway. But it hasn’t lost the lessons it learned last year on creativity and boundary-pushing.

Dior’s Cruise 2022 Show was an ethereal escape to Athens, with the collection drawing on Greek Goddesses and the bicentennial of the Greek Revolution. Cactus Jack Dior, the Men’s Spring-Summer 2022 collection, also transported viewers – this time, to Texas. In a vibrant, youthful collaboration with American musician, Travis Scott, Dior has shown that it’s not afraid of the future. In fact it embraces evolution in the fashion world with open arms, under the guidance of Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri.

The French luxury house has been revolutionizing fashion – from Ready-to-Wear to Haute Couture – since its founding in 1946. And continues to push boundaries with each new collection.

In this show, gold appears to be a central color – with some nods to last year’s forested scene in the greens and browns featured on the invitation. The stitching patterns in the invitation may be a suggestion of focus on detailing and texture in the pieces.
