We Love Green 2019 By Saskia Lawaks
Two-day music festival in Paris’ Bois de Vincennes, had dominated the french capital for an eco-friendly, two-day music festival.
Paris’s We Love Green festival, the City of Light’s answer to Coachella or The Governor’s Ball, started off the weekend with a bang. The two-stage, two-day extravaganza had a smaller lineup than some of its American, hyper-commercialized counterparts, but it definitely delivered on star power. Headliners included Tame Impala and Christine and the Queens alongside Erykah Badu and Future. Other fan favorites who played the festival included FKA Twigs, Kali Uchis, and Rosalía.
The festival focuses on sustainability (as its name suggest), using 100% renewable energy sources and pledging to plant 80,000 trees. It even offsets the carbon footprint of artists’ travels to the festivals by investing in local green charities. Dry toilets and free drinking water also keep the festival’s environmental impact to a minimum.
