Since opening its first London space in 2004, Dover Street Market has become more than just a retail destination; it’s a living cultural ecosystem. Conceived by Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe, DSM brings together designers, artists, and creatives from all over the world, cultivating what they call “beautiful chaos”.
With that said, the legendary Japanese designer invites us into her latest creation. An imaginary forest installation inside the courtyard. This marks the third major installation at DSM Paris, following artistic collaborations with Paolo Roversi and Pirosmani. But this time, she fuses Comme des Garçons’ philosophy with a transportive atmosphere.
This ever-evolving community is where individual voices collide, connect, and reshape the boundaries of creative expression. With locations in Tokyo, New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Beijing, and now Paris, Dover Street Market remains one of the key hubs for fashion’s most exciting and unpredictable immersive intersections.

As part of DSM Paris’s curatorial program, the courtyard will host three or four large-scale works each year, followed by smaller exhibitions or breathing spaces, moments designed to reset the visual rhythm and spark fresh creative dialogue. Kawakubo’s installation will remain on view until July 21, inviting the audience to enter her meditative, art-meets-fashion world.
If you’re in Paris this summer, come and lose yourself in Kawakubo’s forest. A space where breathing deeply is the whole point.
