To be a Chanel girl is to be it, and Miss Dua Lipa is it. With her hair blowing in the wind, the “Houdini” pop singer-songwriter is kinetic magic as the face of the new CHANEL 25 bag campaign.

Dua Lipa shares the same je ne sais quoi Chanel spirit. “For me, this campaign is about the freedom of movement, self-expression, and embracing that on-the-go energy,” says the artist. “It’s powerful, yet playful, and above all, joyous.”

Directed by Gordon von Steiner

Oozing with metropolitan glamour, the artistic icon showcases the new bag in an all-new magnetic film directed on the streets of New York by Gordon von Steiner for the campaign.

Singing to the tune of “She Drives Me Crazy” by Fine Young Cannibals, Dua Lipa lights up the Manhattan avenues with the black and gold CHANEL 25 bag sitting upon her tweed-covered shoulder.

“This song feels like the perfect match for that freedom of expression and allowed me to dive into a fun, raw, rebellious emotion,” says Lipa. “New York really lends itself to that sort of ‘stomp-your-feet’ energy.”

Through Von Steiner’s direction, Lipa leads us backstage to a bustling set, where she picks up three additional CHANEL 25 handbags in beige, white, and denim colorways.

Lipa doesn’t just love the bag—she’s obsessed. “It’s the perfect kind of bag for me as someone who’s always on the move and likes to carry around everything, especially because it’s got these great pockets for all my favorite things,” she says. “There’s a place for my books, a place for my sunglasses, maybe a notebook or two, and even a place for my crystals. It’s just the perfect everyday bag!”

The bag features a classic drawstring closure and two roomy side pockets, and, of course, Chanel’s signature CC logo is displayed throughout in gold hardware. Additional silver and pastel pink and yellow colorways of the bag are seen in the campaign’s photography by David Sims.

While we’re certainly fed with this tease, the complete CHANEL 25 bag campaign will be unveiled in March.
