What A VMAN Would Wear to the Dior Show Today

New Faces & Voices of Pre-Fall: James Turlington:

Half of the fun of attending fashion shows is the attendee’s street style looks of those decked out in the designer of the hour. As fashion shows unfold in a digital capacity due to COVID-19, we can still plan what a VMAN would wear to such an event. This morning, Dior Haute Couture led by Maria Grazia Chiuri displays her fall-winter 2020-2021 haute couture collection, a fairy-tale celebration of the Ateliers and their excellence of savoir-faire. The House collaborated with two-time Cannes Film Festival winner and Italian filmmaker, Matteo Garrone to breathe cinematic life into the most recent collection; on-lookers can anticipate stepping into a dreamlike Dior universe.

Although we may be watching from the likes our own homes, it isn’t to say we couldn’t merely project what attended might wear to the Parisian couture show. We’ve selected a Dior Men’s Pre-Fall look by Kim Jones. As James Turlington sports a monogrammed look, complete with a staple saddlebag, shorts, and jacket for a balanced finish, he says about his goals for the year, “I’m reevaluating some of my goals, but want to keep working with the most amazing and creative people in the fashion industry. I’ve just been grateful for everything so far, and I hope to continue to do that next year.”

As we take steps back into fashion reality, it’s not to say things are the same, but accreditation and applause are due for the House spearheading with gusto what very well may be “the new normal” without an ounce of integrity lost. Head below to see the full look and a teaser into the Dior dream headed our way.
