Winona Oak Drops Her Magnetizing Debut EP CLOSURE
The Swedish performing artist vocalizes her emotions with expertise.
Born into a musical family in the Nordic forests of Sweden on a small crop of land called Sollerön, singer-songwriter Winona Oak grew up inspired by the power of song. With age and diligent practice, the Swedish vocalist honed in on her vocal abilities and began writing music at a very early age, even mastering the violin and piano by the age of 9. Today, Oak is dropping her highly-anticipated debut EP CLOSURE, a true testament to her unprecedented singing abilities, and it’s a refreshingly authentic look into the multi-faceted vocalist’s emotional psyche.
Fronting the track list is the spellbinding single “Control” and an accompanying music video, which illustrates the all-encompassing sensations of love. Oak expounded on the song’s message, stating, “‘Control’ is about meeting someone that makes you weak in your knees and never knowing how they actually feel about you. You make risky decisions, act irrationally and tolerate things you normally wouldn’t. You’re feeling nervous, insecure and are constantly afraid that they are gonna leave you. Oh and this is when you learn – the difference between love and obsession. For the video we wanted to target this hopeless feeling with a twisted sense of humor.”
In honor of the EP’s release, the up-and-coming performing artist is taking her fresh body of work to the stage later this month in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto, and her inaugural US tour will kick off March 30th in Atlanta. Below, listen to Winona Oak’s debut EP CLOSURE and watch the music video for “Control”.
