Arriving shortly after his latest project Donda 2, the artist formerly known as Kanye West and Balenciaga have joined forces as part of their Yeezy Gap x Balenciaga collaborative release. The “Engineered by Balenciaga” collection isn’t the first time Ye has partnered with the luxury brand. In conjunction with his recently released studio album, the rapper/designer/mogul and Balenciaga Creative Director Demna partnered on a merch line for his previous album Donda which dropped at the end of August last year. The duo also released a tribute tee the same month in honor of the late DMX. Gap’s alliance with Ye was first reported by The New York Times in June 2021 as part of a ten-year deal. Since then, Gap and Ye have made available hoodies and the “Round Jacket,” which he sported in red during a Donda listening event at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Now, the three have officially united.

The unisex line features various looks including an outerwear denim jacket, hoodies, long sleeve tees pieces, accompanying denim pants, sweatpants, 3/4 sleeve, and no seam tees. Its size availability ranges from XS to XXL, with price points starting at $120. In an interview with Vogue this past January and as told by V’s Alex Blynn, Demna expressed his sentiments about working with Ye stating, “there are very few people that I know, especially of Ye’s caliber, who really understand my work so well.” The Vetements co-founder then went on to share their collaborative process and how it has impacted him. “He makes me come out of my comfort zone and be a better designer. There’s no ego when we collaborate, just a mutual drive to evolve and do something great and new.”
