Yohji Yamamoto Unveils Replica Collection With Iconic Pieces From 1996
Serving all sorts of nostalgia right now.
Japanese label, Yohji Yamamoto, is taking a trip down memory lane and blessing our wardrobes with some of its most iconic pieces from it’s Spring/Summer 1996 menswear collection. The SS96 Replica Collection will be composed of vibrant colors, bold designs, and embroidered florals, all inspired by Yamamato’s love for sunflowers and peonies.
The collection consisting of four pairs of trousers, four jackets, and three shirts, were replicated using similar designs and are sure to make as big of a statement as its original counterparts in 1996. Staying true to the original pieces, Yamamoto used cotton textiles and rayon fiber to create it’s oversized, sleek garments.
The collection will be available in Yohji Yamamoto’s flagship store on May 30. Prices in the collection range from ¥44,000 JPY to 270,000 JPY (approximately $400 USD to $2,500 USD).
