Yuna Releases Music Video For “Stay Where You Are”

… and a portion of the track’s proceeds are going to the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.

On Thursday, singer-songwriter Yuna dropped the video for her track “Stay Where You Are” by filming on an iPhone 11 from quarantine in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Making up the other portion of the video is fan-submitted footage—from a healthcare worker in Kuala Lumpur to students in their virtual classrooms—and appearances from Yuna’s friends, including MadeinTYO, Lil Miquela, Syd, Cyn, Quincy Jones, TOKiMONSTA, and Jay Park.

Yuna, along with her distribution partner Independent, also announced that 10 per cent of the track’s proceeds will be donated to the NAACP Legal Defense and Education Fund to help fight against racial injustices.

What has been happening to the Black Community is absolutely heartbreaking,” Yuna said. “‘Stay Where You Are’ is a song I wrote to help people feel less alone. I realize that making music and releasing songs is not enough for someone with a platform such as mine.”

“I hope all my fans join me in donating towards organizations fighting against racial injustices if you can, in addition to educating yourselves, signing petitions and using your voice to speak out,” she said. “Together, we can move mountains.”
