YUNGBLUD Releases Self-Titled Album and High-Octane New Video

The announcement ushers in a new era for the rapidly rising star

Since his breakout debut album, 21st Century Liability, Yungblud has captivated audiences with thumping production and a sincere lyricism that speaks to the concerns of his generation. Now, after a handful of viral hits and star-studded collaborations, the singer—born Dom Harrison—is back for his third studio album YUNGBLUD.

Opening with fan-favorite “The Funeral,” Yungblud takes listeners on an honest journey throughout the record, covering topics like mental health, toxic masculinity and trans rights. Lyrics like “Everybody online keeps saying I’m not really gay / I’ll start dating men when they go to therapy,” poke fun at the singer’s detractors, while elsewhere, the wunderkind toys with the aforementioned topics in a way that is equal parts serious and enticing while remaining undeniably current and palatable.

Too, the newly unveiled video for “Tissues,” sees the star take on the persona of a certified rockster, clad in tinges of leather and rocking red-streaked hair. The video, and album as a whole, prove that Yungblud is undoubtedly a force-to-be-reckoned-with, combining a unique ability to craft all-too catchy hits that speak to the plight and triumphs of Gen Z—all the while offering a new vision for the Pop-Punk genre.

“This is a new era for YUNGBLUD, I wanted to dance, I wanted to move, and I wanted to really personify in the video what this song means,” the 25-year-old singer says of his latest venture. “It’s happiness and it’s euphoria and it’s letting the fuck go.”
