March 2025 celebrates the 20th anniversary of the legendary collaboration that changed the intersection of fashion and contemporary art. Under Marc Jacobs’ creative direction, Murakami’s Monogram Multicolore, launched in 2003, added bold, vibrant colors into the House’s signature canvas, making luxury feel playful and modern. Likewise, his Cherry Blossom motif, added a whimsical touch, with pink florals and smiling faces that brought a sense of playfulness to Louis Vuitton’s designs.

More than just a commercial success, this collaboration bridged high fashion, pop culture, and collectible art—a legacy that remains as influential today as it was two decades ago.

Now, the Cherry Blossom returns, adorning everything from bags to sneakers, capturing the beauty and renewal of Japan’s sakura season. Instantly recognizable, the motif offers a fresh take on Louis Vuitton’s most beloved silhouettes. From the structured elegance of the Capucines Mini in blush pink leather with embroidered blossoms and Murakami’s signature smiling flowers, to the instantly covetable Speedy 25, adorned with bold floral accents and a charm-like oversized sakura embellishment.

Other Monogram canvas icons, such as the OnTheGo, Papillon, and Boulogne, are transformed with cascading pink blooms, while luggage pieces, including the Keepall 45 and Rolling Trunk, embrace Louis Vuitton’s Art of Travel heritage with a sakura-infused twist.

The collaboration comes to life through an enchanting visual campaign starring Louis Vuitton House Ambassador Zendaya. Shot by Dutch photographers Inez and Vinoodh, in a dreamlike digital landscape, the actress floats between Tokyo’s skyline and a cascade of cartoon-like cherry blossoms, clutching a Monogram handbag adorned with a three-dimensional floral charm. Meanwhile, further campaign imagery captures models posing among delicate sakura branches, their looks blending the romance of lace-trimmed slips with the playful, pop-art energy of Murakami’s florals.

The launch of the Louis Vuitton x Murakami reedition is celebrated within a fully immersive visual landscape, spanning window displays, pop-ups, and pop-ins, alongside innovative in-store activations and a dedicated advertising campaign. More than nostalgia, this return is proof that some collaborations transcend time.

The second chapter will be pre-launched online on louisvuitton.com from March 14, before becoming available in stores worldwide on March 21, 2025.

As Murakami’s florals bloom once again across Louis Vuitton’s most iconic designs, they reaffirm the collection’s status as a true 21st-century collector’s dream.
