adidas x HYKE Are Back With a New Fall/Winter 2020 Range

Reimagining iconic footwear silhouettes and introducing season-appropriate apparel.

adidas and HYKE are coming back with a new collaboration for the Fall/Winter 2020 season. In addition to reimagining two footwear silhouettes from the 90s — the XTA and the SEEULATER — this reprise of an ongoing partnership between the two brands with an accompanying apparel collection that includes a poncho, bolero, pullover, pleated skirt and tights.

The XTA is a throwback take on EQT XTR — an iconic shoe that first hit the market back in 1996 as part of the adidas Equipment line. At the time, the silhouette came in as a cutting-edge outdoor offering from the sportswear brand and an embodiment of the latest developments in shoemaking. This adidas x HYKE collab presents us with two versions: one with a FREELOCK dial closure system on an archive silhouette and another sporting a magnetic buckle closure from FIDLOCK on the sandal silhouette.

The Fall/Winter 2020 drop will also see the re-release of the AOH-010 and AOH-010 Hi from the Fall/Winter 2016 adidas Originals by HYKE collection, both updated with GORE-TEX fabric and re-monikered as the AH-004 SEEULATER GTX and AH-005 HI SEEULATER GTX. The original SEEULATER shoe was first introduced in 1995 as a trail-running shoe, including memorable characteristics like a heavy-duty sole tread made for rough terrain and sock-like upper that will keep out water and pebbles. The silhouette’s tongue-in-cheek moniker evokes an image of overtaking another runner on the trail, and proclaiming, “See you later!”

The apparel range will be color-matched with the footwear in black, white and tech khaki, as well as an exclusive Marble Print pattern that was first introduced in the Spring/Summer 2020 collection. Largely following the iconic adidas and HYKE product archives, the range also promises some exciting updates featuring new colors and graphics.

The collection is slated to officially hit the U.S. market on December 2, 2020. Check out adidas x HYKE campaign images below:
