Brandon Maxwell is celebrating his five year anniversary with the release of capsule collections that embody the brand’s journey. The first, aptly titled “The Anniversary Collection,” re-imagines classic wardrobe staples in hand-crafted denim. Pieces include stiletto boots, a bustier dress, a tote bag, and a trench coat. Alongside the denim, the collection features some more laid back pieces like a sweatshirt and baseball cap.

The Anniversary Collection is said to be inspired by Maxwell’s two great muses: the women he admires and Texas. As a nod to The Lone Star State, the brand also collaborated with Austin based Fort Lonesome to create a line of patches. The kitschy decorations include images of Maxwell’s dog Stella, a bright pink cowboy hat, and a tube of lipstick.

The second collection focuses on the brand’s short but influential history. The Classics Collection II will drop Sep. 17 and features five looks from Maxwell’s Spring 2016 and Fall 2016 collections.

Of the anniversary Maxwell said, “While celebrating a five year anniversary may seem a little bit strange to some, it felt important to highlight a moment of positivity and growth during an increasingly difficult time. During my time at home I’ve reflected on my journey and all my team and I have accomplished in these five years. It has encouraged me to pause and embrace everything I love about fashion.”
