Fendace is Here

The surprise collaboration is finally arriving.

First premiering at Milan Fashion Week last September, the collection will be hitting stores and online – but not without a star-studded launch.

Creative directors Donatella Versace and Kim Jones don’t hold back, reimagining classic silhouettes from both houses. Dropping on May 12, Fendace includes two lines for the directors to add their vision to the collection, Fendi by Versace is designed by Versace, while Jones designs Versace by Fendi. Logo stamped, gold ornate, and filled with different textures, the launch of men’s and women’s lines will include handbags, sneakers, and jewelry.

“It’s a swap rather than a collaboration, and, most of all, it is done out of friendship,” said Jones in the press release. “It is the beauty of togetherness after time apart and a celebration of women who have inspired me so much.”

The release is spearheaded by a glimmering campaign, shot by legendary photographer Steven Meisel and filmmaker Alec Maxwell. Each video features a cast of supermodels, including Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, Adut Aketch, Lina Sang, Anja Rubik, and Amar Akway as club-goers. Wearing both respective lines of the collaboration, they try to enter the exclusive “Fendace” nightclub as they are hustled at the door by model icons turned club bounders Naomi Campbell and Kristen McMenamy. Donatella commented, “The campaign captures the same sense of friendship and energy we had when we were designing the collection. Kim is a visionary designer and innovator. To me, Fendace will always mean love.”

The collection will be launching globally in a series of pop-ups and events for all to revel in the Fendace experience and will be the only stores to offer the complete collection. Access to both lines will be divided by Fendi and Versace online and retail boutiques. Fendi will present Versace by Fendi, while Versace will present Fendi by Versace.
