Getting Ready: Met Gala Monday with Maude Apatow

The actor calms her pre-Met jitters and gets glammed in Valentino Haute Couture, giving V a sneak peek into her getting ready process
Monday nights are typically reserved for an early bedtime, chamomile tea, and maybe a glass of wine. But on Met Monday, which rolls around once a year, the first Monday in May transforms an average day into one of the most important in the fashion calendar. Fashionistas around the world wait with bated breath, anticipating incredible fashion, full glam, and exclusive afters. This year, the theme was “Fashion is Art,” a statement to the transcending importance of the industry, its place in history, and the artistry that built its foundation. Guests dressed according to the theme, interpreting their own version of “Costume Art.”
Actress Maude Apatow is known for her role as Lexi Howard in Euphoria, as well as her screenwriting and producing. Seated at Valentino’s table, Apatow returned to the Met Gala dressed by the Italian house. Dressed in a chic interpretation of artful fashion, with a high tulle neck and oversized bows, photographer Myles Hendrik was there to capture her process, shaking off pre-red carpet jitters and getting glammed. Shared exclusively with V, Apatow kept a digital diary recounting her thoughts, feelings, and nerves throughout the process.

“Some gorgeous flowers from the Valentino team. I am such a huge fan of Alessandro and feel very honored to have been invited to the MET with Valentino.“

“Just admiring my makeup artist Kale’s beauty”

“Coffee is always great to settle the nerves before a big event!“

“THE dress.”

“Going to need to figure out how to eat this without ruining my makeup.”

“Look back at it??? Ugh I don’t know!”

“Almost ready to leave! Feeling totally relaxed and not nervous at all!”

“Trying to lock in!”

“Heading out!”
