The name Miley Cyrus is synonymous with making big waves and unexpected moves. And in her speech while accepting the iconic 2024 Disney Legend award, Cyrus said it best: “Legends get scared, too. But the difference is, we do it anyway…it’s legendary to be afraid. There’s no such thing as failure when you try. That’s the only way you lose. The only way to win is to try.”

Disney Legends is a Hall of Fame award that is awarded by The Walt Disney Company to individuals who have made a significant impact on the Disney legacy. The well-deserved emotional moment gave Cyrus (flawlessly dressed in a sleekly tailored McQueen by Seán McGirr suit) the opportunity to share a more intimate and vulnerable look at how her life-spanning career, regardless of what people think, has led her to be the undoubtable mover and shaker she is today.

“I stand here, still proud, to have been Hannah Montana because she made Miley in so many ways. This award is dedicated to Hannah, to all of her amazing loyal fans, and to everybody who has made my dreams a reality. To quote the legend herself: This is the life.”

The celebratory evening was filled to the brim with flashbacks throughout Cyrus’ massive career and included an exciting performance of her Hannah Montana hit, ‘Best of Worlds’ by Grammy-award-winning country singer Lainey Wilson. Other notable stars being awarded throughout the evening include industry heavy hitters Jamie Lee Curtis and Harrison Ford.
