New ‘Outer Banks’ Cast Members Announced

Carlacia Grant and Elizabeth Mitchell join OBX cast

As cast and crew celebrated one year of Outer Banks, the show dropped fans a few new name bombs. It’s hardly fathomable that it’s been a whole year since most of us were just a month or so into of lockdown, sinking into the couch, halfway through binging OBX‘s first season. The show gave many a momentary escape. Set in a North Carolina holiday hotspot, reeling bingers into the lives of the Pogues, a group of local teens on a quest to find the hidden treasure in their hometown, and their rivalry with the upper-class Kooks.

The Pogues and the Kooks are confirmed to reunite for a second season, with new characters in the mix. Carlacia Grant— known for her breakout role in the 2016 remake of Roots, and Oprah Winfrey’s hit show Greenleaf—will join our faves as Nassau-native Cleo. Does this mean John B and Sarah made it to the Bahamas?

“I don’t have the words……… Just tons of excitement !!!!! So exited and happy to work with the best cast and crew on the PLANET!!!!!! Bringing Cleo to life has been a joy!!!,” said Grant, who took to her Instagram to share her excitement and gratitude.

Fellow cast members joined in the celebrations.

Lost and Once Upon a Time alumna, Elizabeth Mitchell will also be joining the cast as Limbrey, who according to Deadline is “a long-time Charleston native, [Limbrey is] a compelling woman with a level of toxicity and menace underneath her seemingly courteous ways.”

The cast revealed production for OBX2 wrapped over Easter weekend, via heartwarming Instagram posts.

“What a labor of love this season has been. To the best crew in this business. Thank you. You have fought through adversity with a sense of humor. Sacrificed your time during a global pandemic to bring to life another incredibly compelling story,” wrote leading man, Chase Stokes. “This isn’t an easy show to do, and for those that are there before we get to work, and those who stay when we leave. My heart is filled with gratitude for you. This is more than just a tv show. This has become a big ole’ family. Thank you for on the most difficult days to make us all smile, and on the best days to laugh and joke with us. It’s bittersweet, but I’m very, very proud of this season. Can’t wait for you guys to see it. Love you all. It’s a wrap. OBX2, here we we come. JB out.”
