Minaj will join RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, and Carson Kressley to judge the new batch of queens all competing for the chance to win $100,000, and to be crowned, “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”

To share the news Minaj took to Twitter and wrote, this has been “a dream of mine for so long.” She also posted a teaser for the upcoming series in which we see snippets of the queens looking gagged and gooped in the workroom. The video is cut with clips of Minaj hitting the runway serving us a fierce look on the mainstage. Wearing a sheer, red, fish-tail gown with extra-long red weave we see Minaj critiquing the contestants and talking directly to the camera. In the video, she says, “I am Nicki Minaj and I pledge allegiance to the drag. Show up and make herstory. Boom!”

“Our celebrity guest judges are truly legendary (past judges include GaGa, Miley Cyrus and Christina Aguilera), said Muva Ru. “Our producers have come up with twisted, outrageous challenges that raise the bar for all competition of reality, and this cast of queens is, dare I say, the most talented we’ve ever had. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a fresh crop of queens arrives and blows our minds all over again.”

Last week we got our first glimpse at the new queens when VH1 dropped the patriotic-themed promo. We were introduced to Aiden Zhane, Brita, Crystal Methyd, Dahlia Sin, Gigi Goode, Heidi N Closet, Jackie Cox, Jaida Essence Hall, Jan, Nicky Doll, Rock M. Sakura, Sherry Pie, and Widow Von’Du.
Since the trailer dropped the fandom has gone into overdrive with people already choosing favorites, and speculating who will be the first to go, and who will snatch the crown.

RuPaul’s Drag Race season 12 will premiere 28 February on VH1. Check out the Nicki Minaj teaser trailer below.
