The fashion industry has been aflutter with Pharrell Williams’ Louis Vuitton debut, especially since the recent menswear show hosted such a star-studded audience. The crowd, full of fashion industry darlings and musicians alike, included Rihanna and A$AP Rocky, who stepped out in full denim-on-denim looks. Now, Rihanna is popping up again in Louis Vuitton, this time starring in Williams’ first campaign for the brand.

Featuring the newly reimagined Speedy bag, Rihanna poses with arms full of colorful bags in red, blue, yellow, and green. Photographed by Keizō Kitajima and Martine Syms, and styled by Cynthia Lu and Matthew Henson, the bags are supposed to represent the unique merging of Pharrell and Louis Vuitton.

The Speedy, one of the first bags Pharrell Williams owned, is inspired by Pharrell’s experience shopping on Canal Street in Lower Manhattan and aims to invigorate the luxury brand with refreshing energy. While keeping the trapezoid lines of the classic Speedy, the new Speedy has a softened construction, meant to move and collapse with the body’s movement. The Speedy style was originally created in 1930 as a leather travel bag and eventually added a smaller size in 1965 to accommodate the petite frame of Audrey Hepburn. Now, the Speedy is again deemed iconic in its new campaign featuring the modern definition of beauty, Rihanna.
