Raf Simons Unveils Autumn/Winter 2021 Campaign

The collection explores dichotomy by contrasting colors and textures.

Raf Simons has just unveiled the official campaign for their Autumn/Winter 2021-22 collection, photographed and styled by the label’s longtime collaborators Willy Vanderperre and Olivier Rizzo, respectively. Models Craig Shimirimana, Lars Jammaers, and Stinne Trappeniers star in the project.

The collection was first introduced earlier this year and is defined by six keywords: “Ataraxia” (which means “emotional tranquility”), equanimity, synchronicity, dichotomy, allegiance, and devotion. Those ideas were explored by the contrast of bright and neutral colors, opposite textures and silhouettes, and precise layering to create a cohesive lineup.

The campaign also delves into that concept by juxtaposing colored closeups highlighted by a dark background with lighter, distanced black-and-white shots. While the close-ups focus on the bright headpieces in red, green, pink, black, and blue, the full-body images display the collection’s contrasting shapes.

Earlier this week, Simons made fashion fans very excited when he posed next to Marc Jacobs and Miuccia Prada at New York Fashion Week – a year ago, Simons and Prada introduced their first joint women’s collection for Prada Spring/Summer 21, followed by a Fall/Winter 21 partnership and a men’s lineup for Prada Spring/Summer 22 this year.
