The Weeknd Taps Ariana Grande for “Save Your Tears” Remix

The duo joined forces in the animated and otherworldly

The pair’s third collaboration in seven years is finally here. Earlier this week, both The Weeknd and Ariana Grande posted on their social media accounts to tease fans with an eight-second preview of them harmonizing the lyric, “I don’t why I run away.” The snippet was followed by a lineup of promo images and art.

The release came alongside an animated video directed Jack Brown and produced by Blinkink. Both artists are transformed into cartoon form, accentuating singers’ signature styles like Grande’s high pony and the After Hours artist’s black latex gloves. The kaleidoscopic visual takes viewers through surreal imagery of the Weeknd building a robot version of Grande.

Upon the original release, barre Grande’s soothing vocals, the “Save Your Tears” track made its mark as one of The Weekend’s top chart hits from his latest, and multi-platinum album.  A triple threat, the song reached one billion streams, went double platinum, and still holds the high place at Top 40 Radio.
