UGG x Feng Chen Wang’s New Collab Includes This Season’s Buzziest Multi-Seasonal Bootie
You’ll want one STAT.
UGG aficionados will likely recall the brand’s inaugural collaboration with Feng Chen Wang. The project, which dropped earlier this year, in spring 2021, included a futuristic, camel-colored 2-in-1 boot. Now, the two brands are following up on and continuing their previous partnership with the second release for the fall/winter 2021 season. According to the Chinese-born, London-based designer, both parties anticipated that their creative alliance would continue to flourish and, eventually, bring about another project like the UGG x Feng Chen Wang Autumn/Winter 2021 drop. “Our approach was always to think long-term partnership — so building on the success of the first season feels like a natural extension with the boot and new fluff slider,” Wang tells V Magazine.
For those who didn’t catch the first iteration of this partnership, here’s a quick recap: The germinal transformer shoe, a sandal that came with a sheepskin boot liner, proved to be a success and quickly became a collectible token amongst UGG enthusiasts and fans of Feng Chen Wang’s signature future-modernist aesthetic. The 2.o version of this collaboration reinterprets both the UGG Classic Boot and the UGG Fluff Sandal, all offered in three brand-new colorways. As with the original UGG x Feng Chen Wang shoe, the boot is perfectly suited for winter thanks to the cozy boot liner but can easily be transformed into a summer-appropriate sandal. In other words, if you’re looking for an unfussy piece of trans-seasonal footwear, the UGG x Feng Chen Wang sandal-boot style is a no-brainer choice.
In this new installment, the two brands teamed up to explore and interpret Chinese traditional yin-yang philosophy, where opposing forces may be complementary – dark versus light, the negative versus the positive. The result? A dualism that is reflected in the collection’s color palette and details (think contrasting shades and accouterments that read as soft and robust at the same time.) In addition to the boots and slides, the range also introduced another brand-new accessory — a black bucket hat. When asked about her favorite piece in this new collection, Wang admits that she’s partial to the multi-functional sandal boot: “The updated color palette with the boot in opposites of black and white, or beige and pink, brings a splash of modernity,” she shares. “Customers can change the inner by different colors, which is really cool! And the use of pink is a breakthrough for the brand, so I use pink and beige cut together half-and-half on the boot — so you can only see the beige or pink from one side.”
The new styles are now available to shop exclusively on Feng Chen Wang’s website and will become available to shop via UGG’s retail channels starting Monday, Nov. 22. Shop the collection STAT, or mark your calendar to get first dibs on styles sold via UGG.com as soon as they become available.
