VMagazine and Chris Colls Interpret 2 Moncler 1952

Moncler Genius continues to explore new horizons and give voice to personal creativity.

Emphasizing function with high-fashion, Moncler Genius designers were encouraged to give their unparalleled interpretation of their latest collection, 2 Moncler 1952. Lensed by renowned photographer, Chris Colls, in collaboration with VMagazine, the result is an artistic representation of cutting edge garments for the elements.

The luxury fashion label that is known for its avant-garde skiwear presents 2 Moncler 1952 — a womenswear collection that gives the outdoorsy attitude of Moncler a lusciously feminine makeover. The brand’s womenswear designer Veronica Leoni took the early-20th-century exoticism and interpreted it in a contemporary fashion and paying homage to functionality, whilst the menswear designer Sergio Zambon spearheads the venture by transforming the stories of real and imagined youth movements into a collection that merges the energy of 2020 with a funky, 70s pop feel. Aligning utilitarian with leisure motifs makes for a fierce though elegant look, while tapping military notes against its palette of blacks, blues, and tans highlighted by touches of pink, red, and powder blue.

The collection’s pieces are comprised of soft, elongated shapes such as coats that play the kimono in tandem with balloon-like shapes. Though influenced by opulence in appearance, the collection itself is composed of durable fabrics adorned with drawstrings and cords to allow items to be reconfigured in various silhouettes.

Various wools, devoré velvets, nylon twill, off-center diamond quilting, and knit enable the optimal opportunity for layering of textures. Meanwhile, playful knitwear of padded jumpers and chenille sweater dressing gives balance to the collections articulate shapes.

As a final touch, the collection’s accessories spotlight a fall staple of chunky-soled boots and shoes with chain details or metal rings, as well as quilted cylinder bags in nappa leather or nylon. The collection is now available for purchase at www.moncler.com.
