It’s no secret that Steven Meisel is one of fashion’s biggest and best photographers. What’s less well-known is that he began his career in design, having graduated from New York’s Parsons School of Design as a fashion illustrator.
In a major fashion month kick-off, Meisel is merging those design roots with his timeless photography—lensing the likes of Gigi Hadid and Linda Evangelista—for a new collection with spanish fashion giant, Zara.
Meisel’s limited-edition collection marks Zara’s biggest launch of the year, offering upwards of 50 products. Naturally, the campaign is emblematic of Meisel. It features a surplus of black, denim, and faux fur, modelled by new and old stars.
With styling by Karl Templer, makeup by Pat McGrath, and Guido Palau on hair, the campaign and collection represent Meisel in his truest form.
The collection is set to launch in V’s hometown of New York City with a pop-up from September 9 to 13, followed by an installation on Dover Street Market in London from September 15 to 17.
The collection will be globally accessible on Zara’s website starting September 18.
